All I can say is I am so glad this clown has nothing to do with the interests of English football anymore.

Tv Trailer Update, FOX Fall '08
More and more news filters through by the day of new and returning shows premiering this autumn, and now theres video.
First off is a look at 24 - Exile, the standalone prequel movie that bridges the gap between the largely god awful sixth season and the writers strike delayed seventh.
Turns out JB's been looking after the children of a fictional african country with the help of Begbie from trainspotting/Hamish Macbeth, Who Knew.
Also worth a look, although I havent previewed it with sound. Is the following, a prview of the 4th season of Prison Break. Always good without threatening to be amazing, Prison Break can be very, very watchable. Something tell's me the writing will have to be top notch for the fourth season not to seem dated and quite forced. I will happily be proved wrong though. Enjoy.

Arturo Lupoli, You have the potential to be a hero.
Now forgive me for recently turning this blog into a stream of yellow drivel but i believe the pieces of the Glenn Roeder jigsaw may be coming together at city.
Signed tonight on a year's loan was former Arsenal and Derby striker Arturo Lupoli,
..I cant help thinking the boy's a bit special.
Our loan signings have a track record of getting injured, but I think he could turn out to be just the kind of player we need.

Why America Doesn't Embrace Soccer, Answered With One Video.
For years people have wondered why America hasn't fallen in love with the beautiful game in the same way the rest of the world has. For me it's because of the uninterupted action and the lack of snacking oppurtunities, at least that's what i thought until last night.
If i was American i would find it very hard to embrace a sport covered in the media by such an absolute cretin as KRON's Gary Radnich.
One of my footballing heroes, the city legend Darren Huckerby has moved to MLS to play for the San Jose Earthquakes. Attached below is his meet the media interview, it is one of the worst researched and worst prepared pieces of media I have ever seen.
It makes me feel bad for endlessly slagging off motson and lawrenson, and I never thought i would feel bad about that.
I hope Hucks makes a real impact in MLS, he deserves to. But if things dont go his way he's always welcome back in Nor-fork, Nolfork, North East England, Norwich.

The Follow Up, Mrs Smith
The Delia Video
There is a lot to talk about here, but one question is more obvious than others.
Why Delia Smith was (Billionaire Local Fan) Peter Cullum's offer not in the best interests of Norwich City Football Club?

Remember your role in this Mrs Smith, football fans never forget.
Firstly the well organised quotes of carrowroad.net have inspired this post, but I'm sure they won't disagree with me posting.
In January 2007, majority shareholder of Norwich City Football Club Delia Smith was quizzed by reporters about the prospect of new investment into the club. She had the following to say on the matter.
"The only way we would relinquish our shares is if somebody is going to put money into the football....Only if they put money into the squad - not if they buy our shares, we don't want money. It has to be that there is money for the squad, serious money for the squad."
Why then Mrs Smith, are the devoted passionate fans of Norwich City Football Club left scratching their heads to work out why negotiations with ideal new investor, namely Peter Cullum the insurance tycoon estimated to be worth in the region of £1.7bn have been "terminated with immediate effect".
I could run through quotes from this saga until this blog ran to the end of the page, the simple fact is Peter Cullum wanted to put £20m into Glenn Roeder's transfer kitty in exchange for controlling interest in the club. This may be seen as buying the club on the cheap, but it is at the same time exactly what Delia asked for. She has spoken in the past how she doesn't expect or want to earn money from the club, this has now been clearly revealed to be a lie. Brand Delia has increased dramatically through catering opportunities out of Carrow Road whilst the quality of football on the pitch has decreased steadily.
How you work out a deal right now is irrelevant, the facts are there. Cullum has the money and the intent to take the club on way beyond Delia's capabilities, therefore as a fan and as a businesswomen she should see this as the right time to call it a day.
Some clubs would happily be taken over by anyone with a sizable wedge, arms dealers, F1 magnates, Oil Tycoons. Norwich have the chance to be taken over and run by an incredibly wealthy, driven and passionate fan of the club.
That chance will only come around once.

Here comes the Payne!
As sure as night follows day, film derived from computer games usually blow. Sometimes though you have to let your guard down, for me this is one of those times.
Max Payne on the PC is one of my favorite games ever so I'm naturally interested in a film version of the matrix/noir shooter. Mark Wahlberg is an interesting choice of Payne, i thought Peter Krause would've made a great tortured cop.
Anyway heres the new trailer, here comes Maxxy Max.

YouTube video game orgy
I should stop getting excited by games, as much as its fine to enjoy them, as they are now as much of an acceptable form of entertainment as music or cinema, I do feel that I sometimes can be too geeky about games.
Is it wrong to buy GTA San Andreas for the 2nd time, this time 2nd hand in preperation for GTA IV? (29/4)
Is it wrong to be excited by a game which serves only as a prologue to another release "sometime in 2008"? (28/3)
And finally is it wrong to not even be excited by a game, just a downloadable content pack that gives me 4 more maps to explore and kill people in? (3/4)
I think i'm just going to let my geek flag fly.
oh and theres also motorstorm 2, (thank god youtube isnt blocked at work.)

Jack Bauer and 24 WILL return in 2008.
Whether or not you praised or damned the producers of 24’s decision to postpone the shows seventh season an entire year, it was hard not to admit the show needed time to be refreshed and reinvigorated after a largely stale sixth outing.
Well the refreshing and reinvigoration better start now because Jack Bauer will return this year in a 2-Hour TV movie bridging the gap between Seasons six and seven.
At least so states The Hollywood reporter here, and aintitcool.com here.
I must admit I’m quite excited by this decision, I love 24 but the last season was a shadow of what the show is capable of. Taking the appropriate time to make sure the show returns on top form is essential, but at the same time a brief reminder of why Mr Bauer is one of TV’s best love characters would be very, very welcome.
If the trailer at the bottom of this post is anything to go by, it does seem there is a lot that needs to happen between seasons six and seven. Maybe the TV movie could create a believable story behind the return of Tony Almeida, only so many presumed dead’s can return to the land of the living before the show begins to bleed integrity.
The writers strike has been very effective; the writers have the deal they deserve. I’m not sure however they can sleep soundly knowing how many big shows and stories have been ruined by the downtime.

Reading 2001 - Hazy Summer's Afternoon, Musty Pikey Smell
Go!
I've got a secret, I cannot say
Blame all the movement to give it away
You've got somethin, I understand
Holding it tightly, caught on command
Leap of faith, do you doubt?
Cut you in, I just cut you out
Whatever you do
Don't tell anyone
Whatever you do
Don't tell anyone
Look for reflections, in your face
Canine devotion, time can't erase
Out on the corner, locked in your room
I never believe them and I never assume
Still can't believe there is a lie
Promise is promise, an eye for an eye
We've got something to reveal
No one can know how we feel
Whatever you do
Don't tell anyone
Whatever you do
Don't tell anyone
Whatever you do
Don't tell anyone
Whatever you do
Don't tell anyone
I think you already know
How far I'd go not to say
You know the art isn't gone
And I'm taking my song to the grave
Whatever you do
Don't tell anyone
Whatever you do
Don't tell anyone

Tough Times For The Best Fans In The World
Newcastle United today woke up to find themselves without a premier league win in 11 games, and more importantly without any significant improvement since the return of their very own football messiah Kevin Keegan.
When Keegan returned to Tyneside in place of Sam Allardyce there was a tsunami of football excitement the kind of which is only even seen at St James’ Park, the home of the games biggest soap opera club, a massive club with the best fans in the world.
I’m glad I’m not the only football fan who finds Newcastle United as a club, frankly laughable. On one of my regular haunts I can easily find fellow Norwich fans who chuckle to themselves every time the toon army slide closer and closer to the relegation zone. Many believe they are getting exactly what they deserve, after disposing of manager after manager who fails to lead them to their undeniably rightful place at the top of the English football pyramid, I am inclined to agree.
Like many Norwich fans I consider myself extremely lucky to have an ex-Newcastle manager in charge. Glenn Roeder has taken our club which in football terms was dying a painful death and turned it around. This is the same Glenn Roeder that Newcastle fans turned on as soon as he didn’t deliver European football. I wish I could put a name to the quote but on a football365.com podcast a Newcastle fan said
“You can’t have someone that looks like that and talk’s like that managing Newcastle United.”
Its only really at the very top clubs that such pomposity still exists in football, Newcastle are most certainly not one of these clubs, however much their fans will try to convince you otherwise.
So what do Newcastle have now to look at and listen to in terms of management? They have King Kev, the man who blew a 12 point lead with one of the clubs best ever squads and famously lost it live on sky sports, they have the man who abjectly failed with England, and they have the man that hadn’t watched a live game of football for two years before he returned to St James’ as boss, as he was too busy running a football circus. That experience may come in handy.
It must be very inspiring for the Toon Army to look towards the dugout in hope of inspiration to see a figure of a man who was once revered as a god, now hunched over clueless with no idea how to stop the rot. Only one image comes to my mind. Taxi for Keegan, Yarrrgh.

"I'm just not the hero type, clearly."
Super Hero movies have been done to death, it's about time we moved on. Discuss.
The trailer below proves super hero movies are still alive and well. Robert Downey Jr appears to be an inspired casting choice and the action all looks very impressive.
And the soundtrack, well.. it's pretty good too.
